Looking Back: Mountie House
As we celebrate Habitat NCR's 20th anniversary, we're looking back at our builds over the years. In 2004, we launched Mountie House, a unique project that was the first of its kind in Canada.
By contributing hundreds of volunteer hours and raising funds, this build was a way for RCMP employees to give back to the community and help achieve the goal of fostering "Safe Homes -- Safe Communities."
The build, located on Pinecrest Road, made the dream of homeownership a reality for a family with five children and involved hundreds of volunteers, donors and sponsors. It also provided an excellent opportunity for Mounties from the Ottawa area to trade in their Stetsons for hard hats.
Break Time:Food donations are needed for our Orléans build to help feed our hard-working volunteers. To offer your services or for more information, contact Peggy at 613-749-9950 ext. 229 or email her email@example.com.
Get Involved:Sign up today for your chance to volunteer on our new build in Orléans.
